Procedure: Otoplasty is a surgery in which the deformities of the ear are resolved; these can be very varied from the total absence of the ear (microtia) to merely a very remarkable projection of the same one by the lack of the antihelix or helix.The most common otoplasty is the operation of detached ears (detached, prominent, blowing, loop).
Duration: 2-3 hours.
Anesthesia: Local or general, depending on the patient.
Hospitalization: Usually this surgery is ambulatory.
Side Effects: Temporary pain o the first few days, but it is quickly relieved with medication.
Recovery: Return to normal activities a few days later. Any event in which the ears can bend should be avoided during the first month.
Physical contact: three to four weeks.
