Procedure: The mastopexy is a procedure for raising and retrieve the position of the mammary gland, removing excess skin and putting back in place the breast tissue and nipple.
Novel techniques are used with only one scar around the nipple avoiding the classic inverted T scar. Often implants are used if you want to increase the size.
Duration: between 1-3 hours.
Anesthesia: General or local, depending on the patient.
Hospitalization: Usually this surgery is ambulatory.
Side Effects: Temporary pain and swelling, tenderness in the nipple. Scarring. Temporarily decreased sensation in the nipples.
Recovery: Return to normal activities: 1 week.
Strong activities: 1 month.
Fading of scars: Approximately six months.
